Biography

Dr. Daisuke Kawakami earned his M.Sc. in Chemistry from Kyoto University (1993) and Ph.D. in Engineering from Tokyo Tech (2008). He joined Toray in 1993, later serving as VP of Toray America (2016–). After directing Life Innovation strategy (2016–23), he became Deputy Director General for STI Policy, Cabinet Office, in 2023.
