Biography

Haris Doukas is Mayor of Athens and Professor of Energy and Environmental Policy at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. A mechanical engineer with a PhD in decision-support systems for renewable energy, he has nearly two decades of experience in designing sustainable energy and climate policies in Greece and internationally. His work places citizens at the heart of policymaking, promoting participation, social inclusion, renewable energy and climate resilience. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
