Biography

Dr. Chinemelu is a lecturer, researcher, and urban development expert, currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre. A registered Town Planner and African policy strategist, she served on the United Nations Expert Working Group on the People-Centered Smart Cities Framework and has served as a UN-Habitat Urban Development Expert on affordable housing delivery. As Executive Director of Women in Distress Organisation (WIDO), she advances research, policy advocacy, and women-centred approaches to inclusive urban development. Her research focuses on affordable housing, urban resilience, strategic leadership, and developing inclusive, people-centred cities across Africa.
