It will focus on the water problem in both, cities and tourism destinations, primarily in Mexico, with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean that will build on the progress made at the Smart Water conferences held in Mexico in 2014-15.
The objective is to ensure the continuity of the measures taken in Mexico, as well as gradually incorporating new content that enables us to keep enhancing awareness and sharing solutions to the water problem by learning about successful experiences around the world, innovations, cooperation and social integration schemes. The aim is to highlight best practices and specific cases that have happened in Latin America and elsewhere around the world that may be able to be replicated in Latin America. Also as a result of all of the above, stable professional, business and institutional cooperation between Europe and Latin America will be developed to tackle a reality that involves us all.
Smart Water Smart Cities will involve the participation of decision-makers (regulators, large consumers, hotel operators and developers) from Mexico and the Caribbean, as well as Spanish agents with an interest in the region, forming part of the conference.
