Erion Veliaj

Mayor | City of Tirana Tirana, Albania

Biography

He was re-elected for the third time as Mayor of Tirana in May 2023. His tenures are marked by an urban transformation of the city, oriented towards the implementation of child-friendly policies as part of his vision to give the city back to its citizens. Veliaj was also the leader and founder of the youth movement “MJAFT”, a civic organization which gained huge popularity for inspiring peaceful protest since its creation in 2003.
