Biography

Vice President of the Government of Spain and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. Prior to that, She was Dir. of the IDDRI from 2014 to 2018, and enabled the Institute to play a key role in the negotiation of the Paris Climate Agreement and the transition towards sustainable development. She served as the Spanish Secretary of State for Climate Change and Biodiversity from 2008 to 2011.

This session with the fourth Vice-President of the Government of Spain and Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Ms. Teresa Ribera, will focus on the recovery measures taken by the government of Spain in order to drive sustainable and economic growth in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. In this context, we will discover the opportunities that the recovery plan offers to build more sustainable and livable cities and we will learn to what extend the energy and climate framework promoted will improve life in cities.
