Biography

Dr. Olga Kordas is the Programme Director of Viable Cities, a Swedish strategic innovation programme for climate neutral and sustainable cities. Viable Cities implements the mission of climate neutral cities by 2030 with 23 Swedish cities and their partners representing 40% of Sweden’s population. She is also a professor in sustainable urban development at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. She holds PhD in complex systems sciences.

Beyond a R&I effort, the new delivery method proposed by the European Commission with the Missions, intends to align all the stars to bring transformational changes to life, from beating cancer to fight and adapt to climate change. In particular, the Mission on Climate-neutral and smart cities aims at supporting the first 100 European cities to reach climate-neutrality by 2030, leading the way to the rest of the continent.
