Biography

Marijn is director Information and IT of The Hague since 2016. His main goal is the further digitalisation of the municipality organisation, the stimulation of data utilization in policy making and digital innovation within de public space of the city. All with the aim to contribute to solutions for the social challenges The Hague faces.

This session will gather various city planning successful experiences that have integrated civic engagement. How can collaboration enhance public safety? How can decision-makers seize the opportunities that technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence or surveillance, among others, can bring for the betterment of urban security?
