The consequences of the linear economy model of take, make, consume and waste are already visible in cities, as they are big consumers, waste generators and GHG emitters. Circularity has emerged as a response to reduce and overcome the sustainable challenges by making, reusing and recycling. This session will explore how cities are implementing circularity in consumption and optimization of urban services and its main challenges, as well as it will showcase new technological innovations, infrastructure adaptations and how to successfully motivate citizens to follow this sustainable model.
