Knowledge and Competence for Smart City Governance and Management: building research-practice bridge in the High North

Harsh Arctic climate and fragile nature entail advanced infrastructure and warm homes. This is why remote High North communities with long-lasting democratic tradition champion sustainability and innovations, making Nordics an ideal testing ground for hi-tech. Smart cities came to Arctic from the South with yet unclear outcomes for local sustainability, but exaggerating inclusiveness and resilience issues. At the workshop we will discuss whether smart solutions will address these agendas or will reproduce the globally recognized pitfalls?
