GETTING TO THE CITY FROM THE PORT

BLUE BUS/METRO (L3)

The bus runs from all the port terminals to the Christopher Columbus monument and vice versa. The nearest metro station is Drassanes (Green Line, L3) which is a five-minute walk from the monument. Once on the metro system there are excellent connections to the rest of the city.

By air

Barcelona Airport welcomes over 800 flights per day and more than 34 million passengers every year.

Line N17 of the night bus service runs between Plaça de Catalunya and Plaça d'Espanya and Barcelona Airport's Terminal 1. Line N16 links Plaça de Catalunya and Plaça d'Espanya with Terminal 2.

METRO / EVERY 7 MINUTES

The line L9 Sud Metro connects Barcelona downtown with the airport. At the airport, the first stop coming from Barcelona is Aeroport-T2, and has its entrance near the train station at terminal T2. The other stop, Aeroport-T1, is at terminal T1 and is the end and beginning of line L9 Sud. The entrance is on Level 0, close to the buses.

By car

MOTORWAYS AND HIGHWAYS

Barcelona is 150 km from La Jonquera at the French border. The network of French motorways and highways links up with the AP-7 toll motorway and the N-II and C-32 highways to Barcelona. The main access to the city is via the ring roads (Ronda Litoral along the coast and Ronda de Dalt higher up in the city) or via Avinguda Meridiana to the centre.

From the south, if coming from the rest of Spain, access is via the AP-7 toll motorway and the C-32 highway and then by the ring roads or along Avinguda Diagonal.

By train

Barcelona has direct rail connections with major destinations such as Paris, Zurich and Milan and a high-speed railway line to Madrid, Girona, the eastern seaboard and southern Spain, amongst other regions. Barcelona Sants is the city's main railway station and where the majority of mainline trains entering or leaving the city converge. It is also the railway station for the high-speed trains (AVE) and a large number of local and regional destinations, including Barcelona Airport.

By bus

The bus station with the most national and international connections from Barcelona is Barcelona Nord. There are also services from the bus station at Sants Railway Station and from other points in the city.

This is the main bus station in Barcelona with services to all the main cities in Spain as well as Europe and North Africa.

Right next to Barcelona-Sants railway station, various different bus companies provide nationwide and international services.

By taxi

Barcelona has no fewer than eleven thousand taxis in operation, easily identifiable by their black and yellow livery. Taxis available for flagging down have a green light showing on top of the vehicle. There is also a range of multipurpose taxis available for carrying people with reduced mobility.
If you have specific requirements (e.g. certain languages, seven-seater taxis, etc.) we recommend that you use the telephone taxi services.
